It is, but I am a smaller guy (5'8") and I think the Switch is only an inch or two longer? I may be thinking of a different board though.
Edit: Never mind, you were talking about the Switchblade. A really nice board, I went with the Spud because I like shorter decks for freeriding and the drop is deeper, which I like for standups. They are very similar I believe. http://www.muirskate.com/longboard/d...ck-w-Grip.html Last edited by SteezusChrist; 03-30-2011 at 07:19 PM.. |

Is your Classic 29 built out like the one at Black Diamond, with Tracker RT-x front and RT-s rear trucks, or does it have 150mm Randals? Flexdex sold them both ways... Which wheels did yours come with?
That is a pretty flexy and heavy deck, but you've got the makings of a killer mini, slalom board or carving machine, depending which parts you've got. |

Those 'thane lines in the first video were amazing. My Stimuli don't seem to leave many marks unless I am on some sandpaper-like asphalt or really try and push down as I slide. |

Also, kneepads have seriously been one of my best investments. They help a shitton doing farther standup slides. I've had a lot more confidence doing faster heelside powerslides, and had some of my farthest/steeziest yet. Besides, literally 5 minutes ago I got highsided doing one going 20 or so when I hit a patch of gravel and came down directly on my knees. I didn't feel a thing, but had I not been wearing the pads, I'd have gotten pretty fucked up...my knees at least. Oh, and Abec 11 thane lines from last summer: ![]() |

Yeah I have an old pair of kneepads but I rarely wear them. I wear them on serious downhill days on service roads at ski mountains though. So fun, I definitely recommend trying it if you have a mountain nearby.

Well then, you've got a killer slalom/carving mini, ready to build off of those parts. Those particular Trackers are racing trucks, designed to be used in a pair just like that (RT-S on back, RT-X on front) because the front one turns a little faster/more than the back, giving you a front-wheel steering bias (more like race car, more stable, etc...) and perfect for setting up on other decks. I suggest you look at maple decks 8 -8.5" wide and stick with OG style asymmetrical (directional) decks with some concave...say 30-34" long. Those 78a NoSkoolz aren't race wheels, but killer carve, cruise, thrash wheels that will roll so fast over asphalt in streets and such that you're gonna love having that setup on a board that isn't as flexy and heavy as that Flexdex is.

Last night I longboarded for the first time with my friend using his board. And let me tell you it was so fucking intense! I bombed a hill on the main highway and it felt so good the rush was amazing. I got the speed wobbles and was like oh shit! but i kept calm and then I was approaching the stop light it was green and for some reason I didn't keep going I put my foot down to try and slow down but I ran off the board and ate shit and slid across the road..it was fucking awesome!

If you get speed wobbles, lean forward and put lots of weight on your front foot.

Yeah. I can finally standup slide in every direction (heelside and toeside, regular and switch). Plus, I finally have heelside standup 360's on lock.

Damn, I can only switch heelside standup consistently. I could do all kinds of standies on my old shortboard; sliding without kicktails is hard to get used to.

Finally got all my standups down other than toeslides. I can do them switch, but regular ones seem way harder for some reason. Holding out long standup slides feels orgasmic.

I dont like longboarding, every faggot at my school that wheres hemp necklaces and tie die shits has one, and they go out longboarding, but they can barely stand up. Seems like a fad for them. Not for you guys who like barge down crazy hills and shit.
I just kinda think, why go longboarding, when you can go skating?? |

Here's some old longboarding...
![]() From the series of articles by Jeff "JT" Tatum. This time he sends us a scene report covering massive, legendary pipes that were skated by only a few and known at the time as "The Amerons" or, even better: "Nukeland Pipes". Take yourself back to the Cold War, to the second heydey of skateboarding... |

Finally got my regular toeslides, so psyched. Also, has anyone tried a Rayne Nemesis? It looks awesome.

Yeah I'm trying to buy this Nemesis off of a guy on Silverfish for $140 plus shipping, I may be getting kind of hustled considering it is used but if it has only been ridden under five times then it is still a decent deal.

Thers a guy in my school who makes longboards, and is starting to sell them. They are actually REALLY nice. He also makes specific sized, flex etc depending on how you want it. He brought a setup to school today that was just kind of a test for a new wood he bought, and had a 200 pound guy stomp it as hard as he could to show the flex. That thing bent down almost touching the ground.
Unfinished boards ![]() All this by himself and he's only 14. |
