Got the Firebird back with the new top on it, looks great. Heard some noise on the way home with it, took the rear axles out and the bearings and axles are shot. Ordered new ones, they came a little while ago but they are too short. Hate getting the wrong parts. I want to start taking it to shows before i put it up for sale.

I think my VFR needs new spark plugs its been acting really funky, almost like its getting too much air/fuel and it needs to burp (ie rev it to about 5 grand at idle, 7 when im rolling)
Kinda bummed, we've been having really good weather making me want to ride it a lot more and it would be better on gas to and from school. and I have to wait for my dad to get back to fix it because he took his extensions with him and none of my friends have that shit |

Goddamn you switch vehicles so often. Does it not get annoying have to constantly tell your insurance company and the DMV about the switch?

^yeah they're pretty much the best trucks ever. clean ones go for 3-4k with 200k miles. i got super lucky on mine. $2100 and only 91k miles.

but i actually plan on keeping this one for more than 2 months. this is the kind of truck i've wanted from the beginning of it all.... well, i wanted a 2WD one, because i wanted to slam it like i did my '77. but owning a 4x4 nissan truck made me reconsider. gonna drive this bitch 'til she inevitably rusts into the ground. |

I wish my ranger wasnt RWD, if it had 4x4 I would lift the suspension a teensy bit and then just go wherever the fuck I wanted in the thing being so light

when i actually have money to blow, i plan on a 4-5 inch lift and 31" all-terrains. should be a fun truck... want to do weekend trips. i'm not a "yeahhh muddin!" kinda guy, i find great joy in simply driving good, mildly challenging trails. thats what made me change my mind from slammed 2WD to 4X4 when i had that nissan truck...

going to look at that subbie saturday. once again any opinions, knowledge etc? Im thinking i can negotiate down a lot on the "timing belt soon, clutch soon" argument.

you learn a lot of backround knowledge in school and all, but nothing beats shop experience. get a small part-time gig as a shop hand/apprentice and a locally-owned shop after/before school and you'll learn so much more.

i've heard stories from dudes at my shop about people coming fresh from UTI, graduate and all, who would start their first day at work and didn't know how to do an oil change.
sad stuff. |

Sounds like they're exaggerating or not telling the whole story.
