The Emerica Herman is a Pro Model shoe designed by Bryan Herman.
Style: What bad can I say? It’s basically the reason I bought shoe. They look great in all the color ways, and can easily go with any type of clothing you wear. The design is pretty basic for a skate shoe, yet it’s effective.
Comfort: The comfort level is pretty good. It’s not the best I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely enough. The only are that brings the comfort level down is near the heel. This is because the material behind the heel is quite thin. But, there is a high toe cap so your toes will not be getting pushed down by the top of the shoe.
Boardfeel: The boardfeel is great. Just enough that it doesn’t hurt when you step on small rocks, but enough that you can feel where the board’s concave is. Also, the EVA mid-sole and the G2 in the heel does not take away from any of the feel.
Grip: Great Grip! Classic Emerica style, with the square-like patterns the whole way through the sole. It lasted me all the way up until I stopped skating them.
Durability: Now, some of you may know about my Herman’s from heaven, but some of you may not. I bought my pair for $19.99 at this website I know of. I received them June 22, 2006 and skated them until about January 31, 2007. That’s about 8 months with one shoe. This, of course was held up by shoe goo, but still. The toe cap has minor rips, but the sole, I could feel, was wearing down a lot. Everytime I did an ollie/kickflip/ etc, it somewhat hurt the bottom of my foot. But this is after 8 months. The rest of the time, these shoes were sweet bliss.
Overall: This is an amazing shoe. Great everything. Not much bad I can say about it. The price is about $70.00 at most places, but, of course, there are places that sell them cheaper. So, whether you’ve had Emerica’s, or if you haven’t, The Emerica Herman is a great shoe!
