Ok, I've seen at least 50 new skaters ask what the difference between a Shove-It and a Pop Shove-It is. I've also seen a variety of answers from people who "claim" they know what they're talking about. I'm here to put your questions to rest.
Oh, and these answers are easily Google acessible.
Shove-It - The shove-it is when the board spins but you do NOT pop the tail of the board. Basically, you're just shoving the board 180 degrees either B/S (in front of you) or F/S (behind you) without pushing down on the board, or lightly pushing down. This is much easier to do than a Pop Shove-It, and I suggest you master this trick first.
Pop Shove-It - The pop shove-it is when the board spins and you DO pop the tail of the board. It is the combination of the Ollie and the Shove-It. The pop is the reason the trick is called the POP shove-it. Simple enought concept, right?
