–FlipSkateboards.com – Looks can be deceiving and Flip proves that for us all by making the beautiful Flip Tri-cut/side-cut wheels that split apart way too soon. These wheels have to be one of the best looking wheels out there, they come in nice colours, they look cool, my personal favourite were the Wailer colours so thats the wheel I picked out, 52mm too which is cool.
Once you get these things on, get over the fact they're going to get dirty and start skating you'll become pretty pleased with how they skate. I loved them at first, they're "just right" in hardness, they didn't get any flatspots, nor did they slip out easy. Awesome stuff!
All of these great things didn’t matter though, when one of our wheels fell apart between the red and yellow… That’s right, normal skating, on a b/s feeble (not even a blunt slide, common!) they fell apart, a solid split. We did not aid in splitting the wheel in any way. We picked up the board, it was split and detached… The other 3 wheels were fine at first glance, but when we took a closer look we found some cracks between the same two colours, red and yellow… Take a close look at one of the pictures to see that. So when it comes down to it, after testing out these, we recommend not buying any of the Flip Tri-Cut wheels (the ones with 3 separated colours.)
We tried contacting Flip about our findings (getting a replacement set or something, I mean we are after all Skateboard-City, not just some helpless consumer) but we got no response… Maybe they know just as well as we do, these wheels are hopeless.
Go waste $30US on something else.
