Honestly, I never really write reviews on products. However a lot of people on this forum seem to only judge shoes by the brand, rather than the quality of the product. If the shoe doesn’t have three stripes, or a swoosh on the side, its written off as “gay”.
I haven’t seen many people wear Airspeeds in person, so I had no idea how they skated. So I went to a local Walmart and picked up a pair of the “Classics” model for $19, ($22.30 with tax) and decided to skate them.
After only 15 minutes of skating, I noticed the soles were already broken in, (felt almost exactly like the Vox Troopers that I skated prior to these) and that the suede flicked really easily.
I went on to skate the shoes for a little over 3 weeks, which is a lot of time for me, considering I usually skate 4-5 hours every single day. The only reason I stopped wearing this pair is because I bought a different pair of Airspeeds, “The Legend 3”.
Overall the shoe is far better than similar shoes (Ie: Vans Classics/Eras, Vox Troopers/Hewitt 2’s) I can safely say this simply because I’ve owned all those and they’ve become virtually un-skateable after only a few sessions.
Comfort: 8/10.
I would rank them higher, except the insoles would flex and rise up in the arch of my foot so I had to remove them, but besides that they were solid.
Durability: 9/10.
A bit stronger than your average vulcanized shoe, and the suede was super strong. Overall I’d rank them higher than Vans, Cons, Vox, and Emerica.
Skatability: 9/10.
It’s weird to say, but when I’d look down and see the toe piece of this shoe I’d get hyped. It reminded me alot of the toe on Vans Sk8 Hi’s which I really like. They flick super good and have really good grip, which helped a lot when skating a newly built cement park.
Look/Design: 10/10.
Classic design similar to Vans, and overall really appealing.
