Graphic: This has nothing to do with the decks performance, but the graphic on this deck isn’t too bad. Some might not like the colors and how the deck is really colorful, some might, but I thought the deck looked fine. It’s just a bunch of expedition one logos with “expedition one” written on the side.

Pop: I heard good things about the pop on decks from The Kayo Corp, and after having a couple not-so-great decks in a row when it comes to pop before this one, I really wanted a deck that would shine in this category. I immediately noticed that the pop on this deck was great. The wood didn’t feel flimsy, more on the stiff side. And after a while of skating the deck, I noticed that the pop didn’t go away quickly, even if it had razor tail, the pop felt almost the same. Even though it’s not the best pop ever, it will not dissapoint.

Shape/Concave: As you can tell from the pictures, the nose and tail are incredibly similar. This is great because you don’t have to keep turning your skateboard around when doing different tricks, to me the nose and tail felt practically the same. Another thing you may have noticed is that this deck features medium concave, maybe a little on the steep-side, on both the sides of the deck and the nose and tail. It was nice and easy to flip tricks and it didn’t take much getting used to, if any, after skating on a mellow deck before. Something I noticed was that the deck didn’t flatten out easily either, making it even better. This was the perfect shape for me, and I don’t think it would be awkward for many people.

Weight: Making it even easier to get nice height, this deck was fairly light. It has 7 plies, like a good majority of decks do. It also didn’t feel like you were being held down at all, but it also didn’t feel incredibly light, a nice inbetween weight. There is nothing in it too make it lighter, and it really doesn’t need it. I wasn’t dissapointed, but was not “wowed” either.

Durability: If you read the Pop and Shape/Concave sections, you’ll notice that I said that the deck didn’t flatten out easily and the pop lasted a good amount of time, and didn’t go away much at all even when it razor tailed. The deck as a whole lasted a decent amount time, I got minimal pressure cracks, and only one major chip, from slipping out and having it run into the side of a ramp. The biggest thing I did using this deck was a 7, and it held up fine. It wasn’t the most long lasting deck I’ve had, but definitely not the weakest.

Overall: This is one of the best decks I’ve had, the pop was good, the shape and medium concave were too my liking, and the nose and tail were similar. It wasn’t too light or too heavy, and it lasted a good or decent amount of time in all categories, plus, it was right it felt inbetween flimsy and stiff, which I really liked. Overall I would give this deck an 8.5/10. I definitely reccommend it, the only thing that I would even consider a downfall, although not in my opinion, is the graphic. Which shouldn’t really matter much anyway.
