Grits Griptape

This griptape is commonly found on online skate shops, its usually the cheapest aswell. Blankdecks.com for example has it, and thats where we got this from, on one of their decks. A dollar cheaper then anything else…

Ok, so Grits Griptape is no well known brand, its simple black griptape. Sticking it on, nothing seems out of the ordinary, the glue is fairly strong, it feels a bit weeker then some good label grip tapes but nothing major. The grip itself also feels good, once again, possibly a bit less rough and solid then some others.

Once you finnaly get to skating it, and really put it to the test is where you find the real results. If you happen to land your board upside down on a rail or curb or anything the grip tape gets pretty messed up quickly. Also after a two weeks of pretty hard skating it did begin to loose some of its roughness. If you take a look at the pictures, you can also see that the edges of the grip, when they get scratched also don't stick to the board fully.

Overall, I'd say its pretty good griptape, and I would recommend saving your $1 and buying this stuff if your the kind of skater who uses their decks for maximum of a month. If thats not you, and your going to be wanting to keep your board alive for longer, the extra $1 for better quality griptape is a good idea.
Even if you do skate your decks for over a month, this grip is still not bad. Just try not to thrash your board to much and try to keep it clean. If you notice an edge of the tape is peeling off and losing its glue, cut off that small area and sand it down with the grip you cut off. That prevents further peeling.
